Meet the Team
Cathal O’Donoghue
Cathal O’Donoghue is a founding partner within Wallace O’Donoghue. Focusing on the SME market, predominantly owner-managed businesses and professional services firms. As an entrepreneur, he walks the talk!
Cathal’s main area of expertise is in providing pro-active support and advice to businesses from start-up, through growth, restructuring, diversification and planning exit routes. Cathal believes that, whilst accounting and tax compliance assignments are an important part of his work, the forward planning and advisory aspect of his role makes a material contribution to a client's success.
Sectoral expertise includes manufacturing, property & construction, professional services, healthcare, education, media and technology.
On a technical level Cathal is responsible for a large portfolio of statutory audit clients and is also expert in the area of Solicitors’ Accounts Regulations.
Cathal qualified with a Dublin based medium-sized firm in 1998. Post qualification he worked with both Big 4 and mid-sized accountancy firms. His cumulative experience in working alongside successful international and indigenous enterprises is invaluable to the success of existing clients.
Alan Lawlor
Alan Lawlor FCCA,CTA ( Chartered Tax Advisor) joined the Firm as Partner in 2010 having previously gained valuable experience in two Top 10 Firms over the previous 12 years. Alan has assisted many personal and corporate clients in a range of Accounting and tax speciality areas and has lectured widely on a range of tax issues. In addition to advising clients on all day to day compliance issues Alans main areas of expertise include:
- Succession issues in Family business and applicability of tax reliefs.
- Corporate restructuring
- Revenue audits
- Inward investment and the tax and regulatory issues arising to both Corporates and High net worth individuals moving to Ireland
- Tax incentives including Research and development tax credits and on intellectual property
